About the Kesari Lab
More than 18,000 Americans who developed a brain or neurologic tumor annually and the number of patients with metastatic brain tumors continues to grow. The need for better treatments and management strategies for brain cancer is acute.
Santosh Kesari, MD, PhD is working to translate science from his lab to create improved therapies for patients living with malignant gliomas and other brain tumors.
Kesari has had a long-standing interest in cancer stem cells and studies their role in the formation of brain tumors and resistance to treatment. He believes that in order to cure patients with brain tumors we first need to gain a better molecular and biological understanding of the disease.
A physician/scientist, Kesari harnesses his experience in surgery, chemotherapy and radiation therapy to help develop targeted drug treatments that will advance medicine to a new stage in the battle against brain tumors and eradicate the disease.
